Silk Road China - 15 Days

Follow the route of ancient merchants & adventurers, discover the treasures of the Silk Road in China. From vibrant Beijing to beautifully rugged landscape, travel from the starting point of Silk Road Xi’an we visit amazing relics and enjoy sceneries all the way to Urumuqi, such as the spectacular Buddhist grottos in Maiji Moutain, picturesque Danxia Landscape in Zhangye and the furthest-west forge of Great Wall, Jiayuguan Great Wall.

Day 1

Arrival in Beijing,make your own way to starting hotel. Relax before joining welcome meeting, orientation walk and prepare your appetite for the Peking duck welcome dinner.

Day 2

Get ready for a great day trip to the GREAT WALL of China. Start early in the morning and drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. Explore one of the world’s most amazing construction wonders. Head back to Beijing in the afternoon afterward. In the evening, there’s an option to see a great stage play – The Legend of Kongfu.

Day 3
Beijing/Overnight Train

Start from the morning to explore the amazing Beijing. Hop on a local bus heading to the world’s largest city square – Tiananmen Square. Walk from the square into the former royal palace of 600 years – Forbidden City. Join in a beautiful taste of Beijing traditional culture in old living quarter. Later in the afternoon, transfer to station for an overnight train (First Class) experience.

Day 4
Overnight Train/Xi'an

Arrive into the ancient walled city Xi’an in the morning, transfer to hotel. Freshen up and get ready to explore the historical but vibrant city – the 600-years-old City Wall, 1200-years-old Grand Mosque. In the Muslim Quarter around the Great Mosque. All kinds of snacks and gift shops are along. Enjoy a dumpling cooking lession and end the day with a beautiful dumpling banquet.

Day 5

Today it’s a Must-See day. Transer to the world-famous Terracotta Army Museum, see the terra-cotta soldiers and horses right at the site where they were buried more than 2000 years. Listen to stories of the emperor and history of the powerful ancient dynasty. There’s a chance to pick up a traditional Chinese brush pen for a calligraphy class to learn about Han Zi (Chinese Charaters), one of the oldest surving language in the world. There’s free time to explore the night beauty of Xi’an.

Day 6

Check out in the morning, transfer to visit the 2000 years old tomb Hanyangling, which belongs to the fourth emperor of one of the most important dynasties in China, Han Dynasty. Later, travel to station and enjoy a relaxing bullet train journey to Tianshui.

Day 7

In the morning, a short drive take us to one of the 4 best Buddhist Grottos in China, Maijishan Grottos. Explore this amazing cultural heritage then go to station for bullet train ride to Xining, the summer city of China.

Day 8

Take a day trip to one of the 6 biggest Monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism, Ta’er Temple. Later transfer to Tibetan Culture Museum, where you will see the longest Tangka Painting in the world.

Day 9

Take another 2-hour bullet train journey to Zhangye, enjoy the scenery along the way. In the afternoon, head out to visit the coloful and picturesque Danxia lanscape.

Day 10

Check out and board on bullet train heading to Jiayuguan City. In the afternoo, visit the most magnificent pass of Great Wall, Jiayuguan Great Wall.

Day 11

Enjoy a relaxing morning before travel by bullet train to Hami. Enjoy some free time to explore this less-know historic city along the Silk Road.

Day 12

Hop on our private bus to explore Wubao Ghost City. Later there’s a chance to visit the former Muslim King Palace. In early evening, travel to Turpan by bullet train.

Day 13

Take a full day to explore Turpan and around. Visit the largest, oldest and best preserved earth building city ruins in the world, Jiaohe Ruins. Enjoy sunset in the Kumutage Desert.

Day 14

Morning highspeed train to Urumqi. From Urumqi travel by private bus to Tianshan Grand Canyon. Later drive back to Urumqi Enjoy farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 15

Departure anytime for onward travelling.
