Situated on the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, Minya Konka (7,556m) is the highest peak in Sichuan Province, so-called “King of Mountains in Sichuan”. It is also one of the most sacred mountains to Tibetans in Sichuan. This adventure combines Tibetan countryside with a spectacular trek through beautiful valleys, impressive mountain panoramas and austere glaciers, babbling brooks, azure blue lakes, enchanting mixed woodland and more.
Arrival in Chengdu and transfer to the starting hotel. Relax before joining the welcome briefing and welcome dinner. (D)
Visit lovely pandas at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Pandas Breeding. Take a Chinese calligraphy class to learn about one of the world’s oldest surviving language, Hanzi (Chinese Characters). Explore the people’s park and the local teahouse. (BLD)
Private transfer to Kangding. Visit local market and do shopping in preparation of the upcoming hiking. You may enjoy some free time to explore the beautiful Tibetan town. (BLD)
Drive one hour to Laoyulin Tibetan Village, the starting point of the 7-day hike. We will meet our horsemen and chef who will support us throughout the hike. Gear up and hit the path towards mountain Konka, a sacred mountain of Tibetan people. (BLD)
Start hiking after breakfast towards Riwuqie. Find our pace and enjoy the scenery along the way. (BLD)
Hike from campsite towards Moxigou. Today we will reach the highest point of the whole route, Riwuqie Pass (4860m). Beautiful views of snow mountain peaks are along the way. Descend after the pass to Moxigou (3800m). (BLD)
Hike from Moxigou to Winter Grassland campsite (3500m). Today it is an easier day without much climbing. (BLD)
Continue hiking along the valley from Winter Grassland to Konka Temple (3750m). It’s relaxing and recovery day with 10 km mostly gradual descend. The temple is the best place to appreciate the view of the main peak of Mt. Konka. (BLD)
Hike from Konka Temple to Zimei village (3500). Once arrived, drive up to Zimei Pass (4860), from where you will have amazing views of Konka Mountain Range. If good weather condition, we may see a stunning sunset. (BLD)
Hike from Zimei village to Caoke village (1608m). Today is our last day of hiking with 18 km gentle descend and beautiful scenery along the way. Meet our driver in Caoke and transfer to the hotel at Moxi old town. Enjoy a nice hot shower, the amazing hot spring in the hotel. It’s a celebrating day! (BLD)
Today, sit back and enjoy a tour to Hailuogou National Park, get close to one of the biggest glaciers in the world. Enjoy some free time today.
Travel back to Chengdu and take time to explore or just relax. You may also join the optional massage, a great way to relax after the hike. Enjoy a wonderful farewell dinner.

My own room option has no exception and includes a private tent for the camping days. During the hiking, there are no shower facilities at the campsites while in Chengdu we use comfort level hotel with great locations, and on Day 11, 12 a local 5-star hot spring resort.
Daily breakfast, lunch & dinner are included. Much simpler meals are provided during the hiking due to limited conditions. While in the cities, hotel breakfasts are included. Lunches and dinners will be in local restaurant and dishes are chosen by your tour leaders meeting the different requirements of group members.
from the starting point of the hike, a team of horsemen, chef and local Tibetan guide will support the group along the way. The team size depends on the luggage we travel with during the hike, generally speaking, we use 7 horses, 2-3 horsemen for a group of 5 hikers.
